Myst III: Exile Walkthrough > Narayan J'nanin Amateria Voltaic Edanna Narayan Narayan, you've heard so much about it on your travels throught the ages of Exile, of how Sirrus and Achenar destroyed not only Saavedros home, but his family too, and now, you must save Releeshan and return it to Atrus and Catherine in Tomahna. Take a look around, there seem to be some banners hanging from the walls, we'll need these later, there are also two orbs and a lever, nothing seems to work yet, so I'm guessing we need power. Walk up the stairs onto the top level - Wow, this place really is ruined, I'm begining to appreciate how Saavedro must have felt. Look infront of you and walk onto the grid, from his room, Saavedro emerges, he seems a little annoyed that you're not Atrus and storms off again. Walk over to the red lever towards the front of the grid, turn it and return to the ground floor of Narayan. As you come down the stairs, there is a metal orb infront of you, place your hand on it and it becomes raised, open the latch and take a closer look. There are three discs, each with a set of four circles containing arcs inside them, by touching them you can turn these either on or off, hmmn, I seem to remember something like this earlier. Move away from the orb and walk back over to the banners hanging on the walls - you could make any one of these by turning on and off the various arcs on that first orb! The only question remaining is which words? Take out Atrus' Journal, he's normally good for occasions like this. Flick through it and you will find four phrases that he has highlighted in bold - "Energy Powers Future Motion","Nature Encourages Mutual Dependence","Dynaminc Forces Spur Change" and "Balanced Systems Stimulate Civilization". Walk over to the wall hangings and note down the symbol for every word in each of the highlighted phrases. No! Three are missing - Balanced, Systems and Stimulate, clearly this is the one phrase of the four that does not go into the first orb. Taking the other three phrases and their symbols, write in the four of Atrus' quotes moving in a clockwise direction around the ring, as you complete each phrase, it illuminates. Your final orb will look like this:

Go outside and down the stairway on your left, at the bottom is another room with banners hanging on the walls, read each of these and note down Balanced, Systems and Stimulate (as these were not in the room above), return to the ground floor (up the stairway), and don't forget to pick up the linking book to Tomahna on your way out, don't use it yet, just keep it for later - we need to get Releeshan before we go back to Atrus! As you enter the ground floor room again, turn the handle in the middle of the two orbs to the right, away from the first orb that you used. Walk over to the second orb and raise it, again look inside to find a single circular disc on which you can enter the final phrase, do so and once complete it will look like this:

The outside sheild is open, Narayan shines a bright red glow, but the inner shield remains closed, Saavedro arrives. He seems agressive now, probably as he's just found out that his family is alive but he can't reach them - without your help that is! I'm feeling sorry for Saavedro, he's had a tough life and finally a peaceful end is in sight - but I don't trust him to return Releeshan - lets turn up the heat a little. Go upstairs and pull the red lever back to the center, turning both sheilds on and leaving Saavedro completely trapped on the platform outside. He's devestated, lets go down and see if he's more willing to hand over the book now. Walk towards Saavedro, stop and look at him through the gap in the wall where there is no sheild, he comes over, begs with you and hands over Releeshan. Well, you've got the book, you could just go to Tomahna now, but that would make you as bad as Sirrus and Achenar; I couldn't live with leaving him there alone and with the knowledge his family is still alive. No, lets do the honourable thing. Turn the lever to the right, to open the outside sheild, walk upstairs and pull the red lever back to the "on" position, Saavedro waves to you, smiles and returns to his family. Get out the linking book to Tomahna, its time to go back to Atrus, Catherine and Yeesha, return Releeshan and tell them of your great journey...
