Scoot a disabled Bunny in North Wales has suddenly been making the news here in the UK.
He has bone malformations but lives a very happy life in his own special chair and loves TV!
It all started a week ago when 2 of the people on the Bunny forum I am amember of, rang their local paper after visiting the Sanctuary where he lives and having been so touched by his sotry and meeting him, and how well he is looked after and it has spread from there to the BBC and he made the National papers in the Guardian on Saturday. It has even been pciked up by many local papes in the vicinity.
THe famous scoot has suddenly grown a much larger head!!!
Here is the sanctruary web site.

Well, it appears he has now made the international press.
In Melbourne Australia.
So you Aussies, we have a web site address but you have to pay to read it!
NOT FAIR WE ALL CRY HERE!!
So, I was wondering if any of you would be able to scan the article if it was in a library or something and send it to me to send to Scoot! Well his Mum really!!
We are trying to get the Sanctuary a camcorder. The owner has an old digital camera but would like to be able to show people Scoot better. A picture of him on his chair does him no justice.
His nickname is the Cheeky Monkey!
Here is the Australian web address. It is for a site called The Age.

Scoot is under the title Odd Spot. DUH!!
Scoot will send you oodles of hugs if we can read what the Austalians think of him!!
Read about Scoot here. It is a bit of a tear jerker in parts.

Unfortunately, the only paper we get at home is the free local rag.
To be honest, I'd never heard of this - I am assuming - rabbit.
To be brutally honest, though I do think they're cute, I don't really like them. After all, I spent much time during my childhood visiting my uncles farm in south-western New South Wales, and in the three kilometers from the main highway to his homestea counting upwards of 50+ feral rabbits. . . Of course, now you'd be stretched to find 2 rabbits up there, due to Kalisi (spelling?) virus knocking them about a bit. . .
However, though they've been reduced from plague proportions, I think the virus was a stupid move. The large birds of prey started turning on young livestock, we even saw a Wedge Tailed Eagle try to take on a full grown Red Kangaroo!!!
Though, if I find anything about Scoot, I'll send it along.
And on that note, I do have a soft heart. Just not for spiders. They are the spawn of Satan and all must die (Except Daddy Long Legs, they're fine.)

Spiders I agree with, but Daddy Long Legs they must also die!
A racecourse here had to be completely returfedv due to them damaging the surface in the larval stage.
OK
But there was a sad event at Exeter racecourse in Devon yesterday, Tuesday.
Best Mate a triple Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, who had to miss the Gold Cup this year due to a burst blood vessel in his lung, came out for his first race since that event days just peior to this years Gold Cup. He was not expected to win as he had not raced for 6 months but hundreds of people had gone to watch his return to racing. His owner and trainer had already entered him for the Gold Cup next year as to win it 4 times would hve been really special.
Many people were saddened at his illness earlier in the year as to have won the race 4 years running would have had him way up iinthe Record Books.
Sadly he had to be pulled up about 3/4's of the way around the course, as he was lagging well behind and very winded and then he just suddenly toppled over and died. He had suffered a massive heart attack.
His jockey and the vet were with him when he died.
He is to be buried at the spot he fell. Exeter was a course he had won a lot of races at and I may be wrong but it may have been the course he had his first win at.
He was trained about 30 miles away from where I live.
He had a massive following and many people were terribly shocked to see him die like that yesterday.
His jockey said he thinks it was how he would have wanted to go.
Fast and running as he so loved to do.

Sad period for horse racing all round.
Here in Australia, one of our top horses (Well, not mine personally, but an Australian favourite) was to race in an important race the other weekend. The owner was almost going to scratch it because the horse got a bad starting position.
However, the owner went ahead, and during the race, it fell and broke it's leg. It was put down that night.
So, Mummify was it's name, and if the owner had have followed his gut, the horse would still be alive. . .
And, Makybe Diva (Perhaps you've heard the name) won her THIRD Melbroune Cup IN A ROW! The Melbourne Cup is pretty much the highest and most important race on the Australaian Racing Calendar.

Thats must sort of be like the Cheltenham Gold Cup Best Mate won 3 in a row.
Not quite as famous as Ascot though, even though it went up north this year!
